The main menu is untranslated. The 1st option is Continue, the 2nd is New Game.

- Then scroll down a bit, you can select up to 6 characters.
- Once you are done with the name press X, and select confirm (3).
- A pop up will ask if are you sure? if you are select "yes" (はい).
